About jacks place
Introduction to
jacks place Foundation
jacks place Foundation aims to establish Australia’s first purpose-built, 24/7 suicide prevention facility set in a natural location specifically chosen for its calming and restorative environment.
Transforming Crisis Care Through Evidence and Innovation.
While there are existing programs, no dedicated facility operates around the clock to support individuals at imminent risk of suicide. Currently, the only option for those in crisis is public mental health services, which face overwhelming demand and significant systemic challenges. jacks place seeks to fill this critical gap by creating a safe, therapeutic environment designed specifically for suicide prevention.
At the heart of this initiative is the integration of lived experience into every aspect of the project. From the design of the facility to the implementation of its programs, lived experience informs every decision. This ensures that jacks place will offer compassionate, real-world solutions tailored to those in crisis.
Our future workforce will also reflect this approach, with team members who bring firsthand knowledge and understanding of the journey through suicide risk and mental health struggles.
jacks place will be an evidence-based, therapeutic facility, offering comprehensive response to suicide prevention. The location is equally important, as the natural, calming setting is designed to enhance the therapeutic care provided, ensuring the best possible outcomes.
With the right support and investment, this vision can become a reality, offering a lifeline to those who need it most and filling a critical gap in Australia’s mental health landscape. We invite you to join us in making this life-saving initiative possible.
